Everything you need to know about Hampta Pass

Hampta pass is in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, at an altitude of 4270m (14040ft). The Trail is full of Scenic beauty of Himalayas and Nature. The trek is 4-5 days. The beautiful Chandratal lake with its crystal clear water will soothe your eyes. How to reach

By Air: Bhuntar airport is the nearest airport to Manali, at the distance of 52km away from Manali.

By Road: Take to bus from Manali to Delhi, Manali is well connected by all the major cities.

By Rail:  Joginder Nagar Railway station is the nearest railway station, at a distance of 166km, after reaching station take a cab or bus to reach Manali.

Best time to visit

The best time to visit is from June to October, the temperature ranges from 12℃ to 20℃. The region receives snowfall all around the year except the monsoons, in June to September the weather remains pleasant and perfect for trekking.

Difficulty level

The difficulty level of the trek is easy to moderate, anyone above 8 years old is eligible to come on the trek and maximum age varies from person to person according to the physical fitness of the person.

Located at an altitude of 6006m, it is one of the highest peaks in the Pir Panjal range. The place has religious significance, from Manali it takes 8 days to reach Deo tibba from the top, you can see other towerings Ali Ratni Tibba, Devachan, Kullu Pumori, Dharamasura( white Sali) and Papsura.

  1. Bhrigu Lake

It is a two day trek from Manali, it is at an elevation of 4200m in Himachal Pradesh, you can reach here by trekking from the Vashisht temple which is famous for its hot water spring.

  1. Hidimba Devi temple

The temple is in Dhungiri Forest dedicated to the goddess Hadimba Devi, who is the sister of Hadim, a character from Mahabharat. It is a Hindu Pilgrimage perched at an altitude of 2057m.
